dear God

Dear God
I have so many things to ask
So many questions on my mind
I’m tired of hiding behind my mask
I look to you to find

The answers to my questions
The helping hand
The caring suggestions
Someone who understands

I need your help with it all
 I’m being overwhelmed
The devils having a ball
I’m not felling very loved

But slowly it all fades
 My anger, depression and hate
You strip me clean
Cleansed to the purest rate

You start to rebuild me
A photocopy of you
You gave your son to save me
Thank you.

familiar stranger

Familiar stranger

I sat on the grass doing my history
I start to think of my past
Covered in fog, shrouded in mystery

I have no memories of who i was before
I refuse to recall
For it felt like cutting out an old sore

Clouds covered the sky, ready to rain
The clouds burst open with a thundering “crack!”
The coolness soothing my pain

I ran inside the house
Went to sit by the window looking out
Keeping quiet as a mouse

They say my dad was the park ranger
I look up, out the window
That’s when I saw him, the familiar stranger.

anger

Anger

Anger takes control
And will never release its hold
On your emotions
Judgement, impression and reaction

You will be slave to its influence
No person alive can escape it grasp
In time everyone will succumb to anger
Be very careful with this emotion

For anger is one letter
Away from danger

clowns

Clowns
Who are clowns really now?
That’s what I want to know,

Are the good and funny?
Do they make you laugh from your tummy?
Or are they clowns who are mean and sour?
Clowns who haunt you every day and every hour?

I was five when I first met one
With his makeup and that big red nose
The sight made me want to run
 But with fear I froze

He gave me a ginormus bear hug
And squeezed me tight
Squashing me like a bug
I was filled with fright

I kicked and screamed
So he put me on the ground
Before I screamed
And so I spun around

And with the speed of light
That must have given that clown a fright
I was gone in a puff of smoke

You say clowns are people too?
While I say people that want to hurt you.

Young Poet

friends

Friends

Your smile is infectious
Your voice is soothing
Your laughter is contagious
You’re just too amazing

In you I found a friend
So kind and caring
You’re the nicest boy I know
Adventurous and daring

To me you’re a dream come true
If only you knew
How much you mean to me
Even if we are only meant to be

Friends

But in the end

With my luck in life
Nothing goes right

In the brightness of others
You won’t see my feeble light

Young Poet

anguish inside

Anguish inside

The wounds on my soul
Bleeding for a while
 Un-cleaned, untreated
Just dressed with a smile

Unknown to others
 Hidden by a mask
And if my disguise slips
“no, I’m OK” if they ask

Going through the motions
keeping a smile on my face
old wounds cause me to stumble
 I receive another graze

I’ve spent so long bottling up
Sealing it tight, filling it constantly
I don’t know how to talk,
To heal my wounds you see?

I need help opening the lid
Another hand to encourage me
To pour out the contents
 Of a stormy emotional sea

Please reach out to me
I beg of you, I don’t know how
I struggle against my silence
But the loss is mine, my head to bow.
